RBC seeks patent for THOR technology built to battle high frequency traders

Royal Bank of Canada is moving closer to receiving a U.S. patent for THOR, a  technology developed by the bank to battle high-frequency traders.

RBC Capital Markets, the corporate and investment banking division of Royal  Bank, said Thursday it has received a Notice of Allowance from the U.S. Patent  and Trademark Office and expects a patent to be granted later this summer.
