Getco Names New Chief Technology Officer

Arash Massoudi of the Financial Times writes that Getco named Jon Ross chief technology officer as the electronic trading firm continues to restructure leadership a month after sacking nearly 10 per cent of its workforce.

The move is the latest in a series of changes that have taken place among Getco’s senior management, who have sought to diversify its services amid declining volumes that have sapped profits from its key global equities trading business.

Mr Ross, a former CTO at the Nasdaq exchange, will take up the same post in Getco’s Chicago headquarters after running Getco’s execution services business in Europe, where he helped build up its “dark pool” business.
