Starting a High-Frequency Trading Operation as Easy as Turning on a MacBook Air?

Peter van Kleef, CEO, Lakeview Arbitrage

As reported by PC Magazine, Apple touts that users will gush over the instant-on feature. Any time a MacBook Air user closes the lid or puts the system to sleep, the system stays asleep for 70 minutes and then goes directly into standby mode. That way, as soon as a key is pressed or if the screen is propped open, the MacBook Air will turn on instantly. Starting a High-Frequency Trading will be as easy as that after High-Frequency Trading Experts Workshop 2010 (, “Practical Implementation of High-Frequency Trading Strategies”, instructional and insightful 2-day workshop organized by Golden Networking in Hong Kong, November 22 & 23 and New York, December 9 & 10.

High-Frequency Trading has changed the electronic trading landscape for all participants in the market, exhibiting extraordinary interest and growth; what has been made publicly available, however, is only a limited subset of what others have been doing for years and a limited insight into what is actually possible. High-Frequency Trading Experts Workshop 2010 will close the gap for executives and professionals working in finance and investments, from Financial Institutions, Investment Banks, Hedge Funds, Pension Funds, Broker Dealers, Consultancy Groups, Prime Brokers, Solution Providers and Exchanges, who wish to gain a thorough understanding and practical knowledge of high-frequency trading. By the end of this 2-day workshop, delegates attending High-Frequency Trading Experts Workshop 2010 will understand the requirements to develop sophisticated high-frequency trading platforms, have a hands-on understanding of high-frequency trading in practice, learn how to exploit market microstructure with high-frequency trading and leverage alternative and new high-frequency strategies, including arbitrage, news and social networking based.
